Jarmichael Harris, MS, LCAS (He/Him), is the Founder and CEO of Engage Recovery and currently serves as the Director of Scholastic Recovery for the Addiction Professionals of North Carolina. A passionate advocate for justice, equity, and the expansion of recovery support resources, he dedicates his career to serving underrepresented populations and driving transformative systems change. With over a decade of experience in substance use treatment and recovery support, Mr. Harris works with adolescents and young adults, fostering inclusive and accessible Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care.
A two-time alumnus of East Carolina University, Mr. Harris proudly integrates his academic roots into his work as an Adjunct Professor, where he inspires future leaders in the field. His innovative teaching methods, including experiential learning and strategic prevention planning, reflect his commitment to developing sustainable recovery frameworks. Raised in Salisbury, NC, Mr. Harris remains deeply connected to his roots while embracing North Carolina's diverse opportunities. An outdoor enthusiast, he finds balance and inspiration in nature, often spending quality time with his wife and two young children exploring the state's beauty.
Mr. Harris’s leadership extends beyond his professional roles, as he actively volunteers on several boards and committees, contributing to local and national platforms to expand recovery resources and foster equity.
